Tahira Cunningham, Chief of Staff

Tahira is responsible for strategic support and coordination of the CEO, board of directors, and executive and senior leadership teams. She has 10 years of policy, legislative, and advocacy experience around equity, race, access to health care, and social determinants of health impacting people of color, low-income, immigrant, and limited-English communities.

Previously, Tahira served at the Sierra Health Foundation, where she led the development and implementation of a $4 million investment strategy for California’s Boys and Young Men of Color. In that role, Tahira was responsible for strategic coordination, relationship building, project management, and leadership to support the infrastructure necessary to coordinate work among partners. Tahira previously worked for the Greenlining Institute, the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network, and the California Primary Care Association.
