Social Interest Solutions' Connect2Coverage Data Sheet

Connect2Coverage is a Health Insurance Exchange technology prototype that models the anticipated functionality of the Health Insurance Exchanges (HIX) under the Affordable Care Act. States can use Connect2Coverage to make design decisions for Exchange implementation.

Consistent with federal guidance, Connect2Coverage models and illustrates elements such as those described below to help stakeholders visualize and understand various functions.

  • Consumer mediation concepts. Consumers will have an unprecedented role in selecting and enrolling in coverage via the Exchange and states will therefore need to address the role of the consumer, in addition to many new eligibility and enrollment processes.
  • Dynamic template design. Consumers and other users can establish their own profile and usability options in the Exchange, thereby supporting consumer mediated and usability strategies. The dynamic template also offers the flexibility to meet user interface guidelines that are forthcoming from a national graphical user experience project funded through a public/private partnership of the federal government and health philanthropy.
  • Data verification process. One of most complex requirements that states must meet is the ability to verify data such as a person’s income, citizenship and other information with external systems such as Social Security Administration, Internal Revenue Service and others.
  • Integrated private and public health coverage selection. C2C provides an example of how private and public coverage options can be available to the consumer seeking coverage in one seamless process.
