Social Interest Solutions Releases Web-Tool Comparing the ACA Marketplace from 2015 to 2017
Sacramento, CA – Today, Social Interest Solutions (SIS) released Plan Choice and Cost, the latest installment in an online series called the ACA Spotlight. The series found on www.ACASpotlight.org, highlights the effects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on individuals and families.
Plan Choice and Cost compares data utilizing easy-to-read infographics broken down by county on the number of issuers, plans and average monthly premium costs available through HealthCare.gov in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
“In many counties, consumers have as many plans to choose from in 2017 as they did the previous two years, and in some cases may have even more options in particular plan categories,” said Sonal Ambegaokar, Senior Policy Manager, SIS. “The data also shows that the number of issuers decreased in a few, but not all states and that insurance premiums did not increase across the board for all consumers in every market.”
Online users can determine by county the number of issuers and plans available for 2017 as well as 2016 and 2015 across regions and compare the changes in the HealthCare.gov marketplace from year to year.
More than 13 million people nationally are expected to enroll in a marketplace plan during open enrollment which ends January 31, 2017. Individuals must sign up by December 15 to begin their health coverage on January 1, 2017.
